David Pike grew up in the Los Angeles, California area. He began photography as a hobby when he was a teenager. Over the years his love of photographing nature, people, and action events expanded. Later in life David relocated to south Texas. He was “lucky” enough to transform his hobby into a career as a photojournalist, first for a midsize-town newspaper, then for UTRGV at campuses in both Brownsville and Edinburg Texas. David has won several awards for his photography, personally and professionally. His pictures have also been used internationally in newspapers and professional journals.
